Effect of Mefenamic Acid on Premenstrual Syndrome in Reproductive age Group

Background: Premenstrual syndrome is a cyclic disorder with symptoms that are severe enough to interfere some aspect of living. The debilitating reappear each cycle, the most common being generalized headache, breast swelling and tenderness, bloating, fatigue, depression irritability. Aim: To determine efficacy mefenamic acid in treatment premenstrual women reproductive age groups. Methods: A quasi experimental study was donein Department Obstetrics Gynecology, Federal Government Services Hospital, Islamabad between November 2020 April2021. carried out over 75 patients. Mefenamic for at least 3 months followed up minimum were advised. After follow sequel noted. Results: Average patients 26.03±6.27 years. nausea 84%, gastrointestinal tract disturbance 85.3% headache 80% noted be leading by tenderness 77.3% vomiting 74.7%.The term relieving observed 70.7%.Statistically significant improvement dysmenorrhea, mood irritability (p ≤ 0.05). While no clinically distinction found among marital status, occupation, education duration ≥ Practical implication effect PMS. Conclusion: concluded effective syndrome.
